Morning Prayer – Don’t Want to Fail You Today
Good morning Lord. Thank you for giving me this day. I so much don’t want to fail you again today.
Distractions:
Seems my life is full of distractions and I’m failing to serve you like I should. But I so desperately want you to use me. I’m so sorry.
Keep My Eyes on You:
Lord, please take away the distractions. Help me to keep my eyes on you. And open my ears to hear your voice. You are my shepherd and I don’t want the world to distract me from wholeheartedly following you. I don’t know why it’s been so hard for me.
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
John 10:26-27 (Jesus said) “You do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
Revive My Soul:
Get me out of this slump. I’ve been here far too long. I don’t want to be lukewarm in your mouth, so you spit me out. Put a spark in my spirit and a fire in my heart. I pray for the revival of my soul. I long to be excited about what you are doing.
Isaiah 48:17 This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who leads you in the way you should go.
Revelation 3:15-16 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm— neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Remember – Look Ahead:
I remember how close I was to you before. I saw miracles and felt your presence and heard your voice. How sweet it was. But I know I shouldn’t long for what was. But look at today and tomorrow. I pray I get even closer to you now than I have ever been before. Use me more than you ever have in former years. Help me to be more obedient to you than ever in the past. Expand my territory.
Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Acts 2:25-28 David said about him: “ ‘I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’
1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!
So Today:
So today, I’m going to fix my eyes on you. I know the problem is with me, not you. So today, I’ll really try to listen to your directions and follow you. Please show up today and use me for your purpose.
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
I desperately pray in that wonderful name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
