Weekly Challenge – Memorize Bible Verses
The challenge for this week is “Memorize Bible Verses”.
Yearly Series:
This is part of a yearly series “Weekly Challenges to Get Closer to God”. There are 26 challenges for 1 year. You prayerfully concentrate on 1 task for 1 week (every other week) and see what happens.
The Bible is the Word of God:
The Bible is the word of God. If we want to be close to God, we need to study it. God speaks to us through his word. Some Bible verses touch our hearts and speak to us. We should memorize those verses. As a matter of fact, we should memorize as many Bible verses as we can. You never know when you’re going to need them.
Challenge:
So for one week, memorize as many Bible verses as you can. It may be one verse a day or more. But try memorizing more than usual. Meditate on those verses and what they mean to you. Memorize as many Bible verses as you can for one week and see what happens. See how you get closer to God.
Bible Verses:
Here are some Bible verses to motivate you.
Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
Psalms 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
2 Timothy 3:14-15 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
