Dear Lord (A Prayer for Enemies),
Thank you for all the people you have put in my life, even those who I consider an enemy. I appreciate that you are always with me, no matter how I feel or what I am going through (Psalms 139:7-12), you are always my counselor and father. I love you so very much.
Pray for Our Enemies:
As you taught us (Matthew 5:43-44, Luke 6:27-28), I am lifting my enemies up to you. Please pour blessings over them. Bring peace and joy into their hearts. I pray for their salvation and that they would come to know you in a deep personal way.
Guide them and protect them. If they need healing, heal their body, mind, and soul.
I also pray for their families and loved ones. If there is any strife in their families, please bring peace and unity.
Forgiving My Enemies:
Help me to forgive my enemies and hold no resentment towards them. I know if I don’t forgive my enemies, you won’t forgive me (Matthew 6:14-15). So please give me wisdom and strength to forgive them. Let me see them as you see them, for you love everyone including my enemies.
I pray we can reconcile any conflicts. Guide me of how to make peace with them. Give us wisdom of how each other feels and what we struggle with.
I admit I tent to want to get even and fight for what’s right. It is hard for me to turn the other cheek (Matthew 5:38-40) and I need your help and strength to do that.
Also, if it be your will that I set some boundaries, guide me in doing that. Please direct my path when dealing with my enemies and correct me when I go the wrong way.
May your will be done in all circumstances.
I pray in that powerful name of Jesus, my Lord.
Amen.
