Dear Lord,
Thank you for my life – all of it (good and bad) and for all the people you have put in my path. Everything comes from you and I give you all the glory for all that is.
Life With Purpose:
Lord, I pray that my life would now have purpose. I’ve had purpose in the past, but things have changed. Now it seems my life is just going along with no real reason or goal. I’ve tried some different things, but nothing seems to work. I need your help.
Life Without Purpose:
Living without a purpose can lead to depression and despair. I’m not quite there yet. However, I can feel it stirring in my thoughts. But you work for the good of those who love you and who have been called according to your purpose (Romans 8:28). Give me a calling for your purpose. Help me to recognize the calling when I see it. Burn it into my heart.
Your Purpose for My Life:
Not only do I long for a purpose, but for your purpose to be done through me (Ephesians 1:11, Philippians 2:13). And that you go with me as I do your purpose. Please lead me in the direction you want me to go. Guide me into your will and walk with me through it.
I know I am limited in my skills and abilities, and you know what hinders me. But surely you are able to use me in some way. Open doors of opportunity for me to serve, in and/or outside of my church. Use me like you used the Israelites, even if it is just a small, seemingly insignificant task (Exodus 35:10,20-22,25-26, 29-32,35; Exodus 36:1-2). I don’t need to save the world to have purpose. Any task for your purpose is important and meaningful.
I so desperately want to help people and be a good servant for you. Please put a passion in my heart to serve and help in whatever way I can. Give me a reason for living!
Thank you for being with me through every part of my life and for all the wonderful blessings you have sent my way. It is so comforting to know you are always there.
I pray in that sweet name of Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
